A leading cardiologist in this area since 1984, Dr. Gill has treated thousands of Fox Valley residents suffering from heart disease or its related symptoms. She joined the Rush-Copley medical staff in 1984, has been medical director of cardiology since 1985 and recently was named chairperson of internal medicine. Dr. Gill attended medical school at the University of Jabalbur, India. She completed her internship and residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, and received further advanced cardiology training at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. Among her special practices and procedures include lipid management, interventional cardiology (cardiac catheterization, angioplasty and stent placement) preventive cardiology and congestive heart failure. Dr. Gill supplemented her medical education with a master's of business administration degree from Illinois Benedictine College.
Dr. Gill is active in several professional organizations including the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, Kane County Medical Society and Illinois State Medical Society. Dr. Gill is a proponent of patient and public education on the prevention of heart disease. She consistently advocates weight management, increased physical activity and awareness of the early symptoms of heart disease to her patients and to capacity crowds at Rush-Copley's educational conference center. She is considered a local expert on heart disease for area health professionals, service organizations, corporations and the media. Over the years, her personal and professional creed has held steadfast: "The patient is first and foremost. I share this with other doctors in the practice and with nurses and support staff in an effort to motivate all to believe this philosophy. Only then you are ultimately successful as a physician, as a leader."
