Echocardiograms
A
widely used diagnostic test for patients experiencing symptoms such
as shortness of breath, chest discomfort, or heart murmur. An echocardiogram
is a noninvasive ultrasound of the heart. It provides information
such as heart size, pumping strength, extent of damaged heart muscle,
location and degree of heart valve problems, and blood flow pattern.
An echocardiogram may be used to gather information regarding the condition of a patient's heart in order to determine the most appropriate treatment.
