Dr. Sackett-Maniacci is a licensed clinical psychologist and a graduate of an APA approved doctoral program in clinical psychology. She has been in the mental health field since 1990 and has received extensive training and supervision in Adlerian Psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral psychology, substance abuse counseling and neuropsychology. Dr. Sackett-Maniacci specializes in and has done research on the psychological aspects of physical illness. She has worked in both inpatient medical and psychiatric units, including the Diamond Headache Unit and Forest Hospital, and has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families.

She maintains a private practice in Naperville, Illinois and regularly conducts psychoeducational groups and community workshops speaking on a variety of topics including standing up to stress, marital enrichment, anger management, parenting skills, coping with chronic illness, and women's issues. Dr. Sackett-Maniacci is married, the mother of a young daughter, and brings to her practice a personal understanding of standing up to the challenges of maintaining family life and work outside the home.
