Dr. Vasa grew up in Darien, Illinois and went on to attend an accelerated undergraduate/medical school program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She completed her internal medicine training at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago, where she received the Outstanding Resident Teacher Award by the Department of Internal Medicine. She then did her fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Northwestern University Medical School. She has worked with renowned endocrinologists such as Mark Molitch and J. Larry Jameson, who have authored the textbook of Endocrinology. In addition, she the author of a book chapter on endocrinology in the intensive care unit. Her research interests also include thyroid disease, diabetes in pregnancy, and obesity.

Dr. Vasa belongs to several medical societies, including the Endocrine Society, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the American Diabetes Association.

Dr. Vasa currently resides in Naperville and recently had her second child. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, music and travel.
